Exercises Experimental Economics (Bachelor)

Content

The aim of this course is to provide an overview of the field of experimental economics and its various applications within economics and related disciplines.

The course begins with an introduction to the fundamental methodology of experimental economics. This includes discussing the possibilities and limitations of economic studies, the rules and principles guiding their implementation, the different types of experiments and their applications for different research purposes.

A central component of the course is the analysis of well-known and influential studies in experimental (and behavioral) economics. The respective study designs and main findings will be presented and subsequently critically discussed. In addition, research questions for potential follow-up projects will be developed.

Furthermore, the course introduces the basics of game-theoretic analysis and data analysis.

By the end of the course, participants should be able to develop their own research ideas and an appropriate experimental study to investigate them.
